View configuration

The presentation of your objects in the browser is controlled via Magik code and several display properties stored in the SEPIA database. You can control these properties via the SW-Lookup® view configuration menu, which in turn is accessible via the SW-Lookup® configuration menu.

After you double-click on one of the object classes listed there, the following menu appears:

At the same time, the "SWLookup background drawer" will become visible. Please do not close this window manually, it will become invisible when closing the view configuration menu. If you closed it erroneously, it might be necessary to restart the connection. You may now enter the display parameters as follows:

• Display Scale - choose the display scale which will be used for drawing.
• Fixed view scale? - If this field is checked, drawing is done using the entered fixed view scale. It must be entered in the form "1:xxxx".
• View scale - enter the desired view scale
• Border around bounds - alternatively, you may enter a border by which the object's border is extended in this field (then, the field "fixed view scale?" must be unchecked). Note that the border is entered in database units.
• Image type - you can create different kinds of images. The default value "GIF 265 colours std" is most often the best choice.
• Image width, Image height - allows to enter the size of the created image. Useful values lay between 200 and 1000 pixels. The default value is 400 by 400 pixels.
• Highlight? - if checked, the displayed object is highlighted (even if it is, e. g. by display scale configuration, not visible). This prevents receiving "empty" images.
• From GIS - If you press this button, SW-Lookup® will gather the parameters mentioned above from the current GIS view. For example, you can lookup an object in the GIS, set the scales for a good result, and press this button. If you have changed the visibility of certain objects manually, the system automatically generates a user defined visibility in the SWLOOKUP ACE alternative.
• Test view - click here, and you will see the result for an arbitrary object in the background drawer. If you have selected a matching object in the main graphics window, this one will be used.

Configuring multiple views

SW-Lookup® provides an easy way to configure multiple views for a single object class. These views may have the following purposes:

• If you define a view with the internal name "overview", this will be used for the overview window on the left side of the SW-Lookup® result window. If such a view isn't defined, the system will use the configuration for the main graphics with a lower resolution to provide the overview graphics.
• All other views are listed in the result table as a link. Therefore, you may access multiple views of an object by a simple click. This can be useful to provide the view in different styles and / or scales.

If you want to configure more than one view for an object, you can choose "new" to introduce a new view. The following window will show up:

Enter an external and an internal name (the latter without spaces and preferably short, only lowercase letters). After clicking "ok" you may select the new view in the choice item on the upper side of the view configuration menu and configure it different from the other view(s).

Please note that a view called "overview" (internal) will be used for the overview window on the left side of the screens.

Displaying internal worlds

If an object understands the method world, you can display the internal world represented by this object (e.g. drawings or profiles). This internal world will most often use its own, special ACE to be displayed, and it is possible that nothing is displayed with the standard 'default' ACE.

If, for exampla, you want to display a longitudinal profile (class gm_ls_uebersichtsprofil), you will need the ACE 'profile' to display the drawing correctly. Please create a view with the internal name set to 'internals', and choose the ACE profile for the display.
